WWE RAW - June 20, 2016
Random Thoughts and Opinions
Kudos to WWE finally admitting defeat and taking the title off of Roman Reigns. I still think the best scenario at Money in the Bank would have been a Rollins and Reigns double turn, and Rollins winning the belt. Now you've got a babyface Dean Ambrose chasing Seth Rollins for the title. That said, I'm just happy to see a new WWE World Champion.
You deserve it chants for Ambrose. Glad to see him get his moment opening RAW as the WWE World Champion. And here comes Roman Reigns.
You can't wrestle chants directed at Reigns are so misplaced. Definitely not a “smart” crowd.
Great response to the chants from Reigns. It was certainly off script, I wish WWE would allow him to go off script more, I think it would've helped him get over better with the male demographic.
Seth Rollins gets huge reactions from crowds, WWE should've called an audible the night he returned.
It's time to bring back the serious Dean Ambrose character. The wacky Dean facials don't fit the moment.
Here comes the money…
Rollins vs. Reigns in a #1 Contender's Match tonight. Nice hook to keep viewers tuned in.
I'll never get tired of watching Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens. Nice win for Sami. Hopefully we get a big blow off match between the two of them before they get separated after the draft.
A Fit Finlay sighting!
A good pull apart brawl is always fun to watch.
People Power! Personally, I'm a fan of John Laurinaitis’ wardrobe.
How you doin? Enzo Amore is instant energy. Damn Shane, stop trying so hard.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Enzo and Cass, but their matches are too formulaic. Enzo gets worked over to start, hot tag, then Cass clears ring, goes on offense, tag back to Enzo for finish. I'm also disappointed with the treatment of the Vaudevillians. It was obvious they were taking the pin at Money in the Bank, and here they are taking another clean pin from Enzo And Cass. They're in no better position than the Dudleys at this point.
Love the sarcasm in the apologies from The Club.
“Winning is the key to success in WWE.” - John Cena. Someone should tell Dolph Ziggler.
Cena looked legitimately shocked the crowd was chanting his name.
That was an excellent segment with Cena and the Club. Styles was great as the sarcastic, gloating heel and Cena’s serious, no BS delivery was spot on. The Cena vs. Styles feud is the best thing going in WWE.
You'd think WWE would give Anderson a little offense before Gallows and Styles interfered. Doesn’t Cena have any buddies back stage who could come out for the save? This isn't the first time Cena’s been outnumbered against the Club.
I'm digging Natalya as a heel. It gives a fresh set of opponents and it allows her to work with the younger talent.
The End of Days is a wicked finisher. Corbin's facials and body language are way ahead of his in-ring skills.
Good to see Paige back in the mix, although she works better as a heel. If you haven't heard, the ring is her house.
I'm really trying hard to like Dana Brooke.
Shouldn't Charlotte be disqualified due to Brooke putting her foot on the rope? Good match up until the end.
Finally Sasha Banks returns to RAW. Looks like Banks vs. Charlotte for SummerSlam; where does that leave Paige?
The Wyatt’s have one of, if not the best entrance on the current roster. Not the return I was hoping for. Are the Wyatts heels or faces? Just like with Seth Rollins, WWE dropped the ball with Bray Wyatt. The crowd desperately wants to cheer him, yet he returns as a tweener? I don't even know. Not to mention New Day’s act doesn't mesh well with the Wyatts.
Everything Rusev does usually lands in the Good section, this didn't. I just don't have any desire to see him feud with Titus O’Neil. I respect Titus, the person. Titus the wrestler, not so much.
Look at tough guy Shane talking down to Chris Jericho. I thought that was Stephanie’s job.
Good match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The double count out was necessary to set up the Triple Threat at Battleground. I like Ambrose delivering Dirty Deeds to both Rollins and Reigns to close the show. WWE needs to build Ambrose up as much as possible heading into Battleground.
