WWE RAW - May 23, 2016
Random Thoughts and Opinions
Rollins looks genuinely excited to be back.
Great reception for Rollins...and here's the heel promo. This is darn good heel work from Rollins.
Here comes the true heel in WWE...Roman Reigns. Loud boos.
A hot opening to RAW. It was smart for WWE to announce Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank. They now have four weeks to build to the match. WWE better expect Rollins to get cheered against Reigns.
The Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches gives RAW a different feel. Every match has meaning, which is a good thing.
Pretty basic RAW match between Zayn and Sheamus with the right guy going over. That was strange post match behavior from Sheamus. Hopefully WWE has something planned for him after losing to Sami Zayn in the MITB qualifier.
Well there you have it. Apparently Sheamus is leading the crusade against the guys who are considered to be part of the New Era?
What?!? A Social Outcasts sighting on RAW.
Another paint by numbers New Day match. Poor Heath Slater.
I might be in the minority, but I'm a big fan of the Miz’s act.
Yeah, Cesaro is freakishly strong.
Miz and Cesaro work well together, this is a really good match. Crowd fully behind Cesaro. Miz doesn't lose anything taking the loss.
That was a bad botched move by Crews and Jericho didn't look happy. That was an awkward match. Apollo Crews needs work, I'm OK with Jericho going over. It's going to be interesting to see where they go Crews. It looks to me like they are pushing him down the card already.
The wrestling on tonight's show has been very suspect.
I'm still willing to give the Bob Backlund and Darren Young pairing a chance, but I hope it gets better.
Why does Dolph Ziggler keep talking about “stealing the show?”
How you doin? Welcome back Enzo, we missed you!
Hmm, not as hot of a return for Enzo as I expected. The crowd was into him but not at the level I would have thought. WWE should have promoted his return for a few weeks in my opinion.
Shouldn't Enzo & Cass be going after the Vaudevillains? By the way, where are the Vaudevillians? I really hope WWE hasn't soured on them already. I can understand the Apollo Crews treatment, but I thought the Vaudevillians had something going. Especially considering they had a ready made feud with Enzo and Cass.
I'm on the fence here, I like the fact WWE is pushing Cass, but as a long time fan of the Dudleys it's hard to watch them job out every week. By the way, Cass needs a different finisher because the Empire Elbow is awful.
Damn, Charlotte is tearing into her dad. Now that's heel heat, well done. You just know Charlotte gave Ric a big hug as soon as they got behind curtain.
I'm not as down on Dolph Ziggler as most, but I don't expect him to win any match he's wrestling in. And there you have it, Ambrose pins Ziggler clean. I didn't care for that match. Ambrose’s selling was bad and I just can't take Ziggler as a serious threat.
I'm glad they split off A.J. from Gallows and Anderson. It keeps Styles a baby face and let's Gallows and Anderson work as heels, which suits them the best.
Styles vs. Owens is easily the match of the night. Excellent match. Styles is amazing in the ring, he makes everyone he wrestles look like a million bucks.
Owens pinning Styles clean is intriguing. Where do they go with Styles from here?
I liked RAW for the fact that they started new story lines with Money in the Bank, but the wrestling on the show was below average.
Sami Zayn vs. Sheamus
Big Cass vs. Bubba Ray Dudley, but more so for the return of Enzo
Splitting up the Club
A.J. styles vs. Kevin Owens
New Day vs. Social Outcasts
Apollo Crews vs. Chris Jericho
Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler
