WWE Extreme Rules - May 22, 2016 Random Thoughts and Opinions Baron Corbin gets the win he should have at Payback. Now can this feud finally end?!? Good to see Lillian Garcia back. It sure seemed like the crowd popped pretty big for The Club, but it didn't come across like it on TV. The crowd is booing everything the Usos do and cheering everything The Club does. Anderson and Gallows get a much needed win...finally. I think WWE really missed an opportunity with Gallows and Anderson. With all the publicity and hype for them coming to WWE and to not build them up as a monster tag team was a mistake. Good opening match though. I wish it would have gone 4-5 minutes longer, but the crowd was really into the action and that's what matters. Rusev should be a main event heel. After watching Rusev vs. Kalisto, it's a damn shame the way WWE handled Kalisto’s U.S. Title run. The U.S. Open Challenge would have been the perfect platform for Kalisto to play the underdog, fighting champion. Strange ending, but I'm glad Rusev won the title, I just hope they don't use him as a transition to Cena. It looks like Lillian Garcia is enjoying New Day’s entrance. I thought we might see the tag titles change hands only because New Day doesn't need the titles, but they retain in an OK match. Hopefully WWE keeps the Vaudevillians strong for their feud with Enzo & Cass. The crowd is hot for the Fatal 4-Way Match. I love everything Kevin Owens does. Dueling Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn chants. These near falls are tremendous. I like keeping the belt on The Miz and for anyone who still says he can't hang with the best, watch this match. If you didn't see the Fatal 4-Way Match for the IC Title, you must go out of your way to see it. A wonderful match! Nobody does smug better than Chris Jericho. Tough spot for Ambrose and Jericho having to follow the IC Title classic. If there's anyone up for the challenge, it's Jericho. I was wrong, this match is just plodding and not very good. The PG era does matches like this no favors. The crowd is dead, barely responding to even the big spots. Jericho takes the bump of the night into the pile of thumb tacks. Kudos to the veteran. WWE gave this match way too much time. The women’s match seems slow and plodding. Dana Brooke interfering makes absolutely no sense. What a disappointing match. They never got out of first gear. OK, now those are loud boos for Reigns. As the crowd is booing, JBL says “This crowd just erupted.” Wait….what? Ughh You can't wrestle chants from the crowd. Roman sucks chants. Reigns’ offense is so predictable, it never changes. Styles is making him look like a million bucks though. You still suck chants. Styles and Reigns are working hard, no doubt about it. Styles taking a beating and selling his ass off for Reigns. Competing AJ Styles/Roman Reigns chants. And here is The Club! Now the Usos. I hate that they had Reigns kick out of the Styles Clash. That was a great match! Kudos to both guys for that performance. Seth Rollins! The crowd just lost their minds! Thank you Seth chants and the crowd erupts as he holds the belt over his head. Final Thoughts The Fatal 4-Way and the main event carried this show. The Ambrose Asylum Match and the Women’s Title Match were both disappointing. The U.S. Title Match and the Tag Team Title Match were matches I've seen on RAW dozens of times. I like WWE keeping Seth Rollins a heel, although you'd never know considering the huge baby face reactions he's going to get. If there was ever a time for WWE to pull a double turn, this is it. I'm curious to see if they bring HHH back too now that Rollins is back. I give the show a solid B grade. If not for the IC Title and main event matches, this show would be a C- at best. The Good The Fatal 4-Way Match The Club vs. the Usos Rusev winning the U.S. Title The main event Return of Seth Rollins The Bad Ambrose Asylum Match The Women’s Title Match The Tag Team Title Match The Ugly The announce team
