WrestleMania 32 is finally upon us! What's there to say that hasn't been said already: the injuries, the lackluster build, the gaps in logic, and the list goes on. But, even with those shortcomings, it's still WrestleMania.
Here we go…
Triple H vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
It looks like this match will go on last. If that's the case then there has to be a surprise ending to WrestleMania. The thought of Roman Reigns standing on the second rope hoisting the WWE World Heavyweight Title over his head as the new champion sends cold shivers down my spine. But, should he do so as a heel after a major heel turn, now that warms my heart.
WWE has to be worried about sending the crowd home unhappy if they go through with Reigns winning clean as a babyface. Match placement will tell which direction WWE plans on going. If the match is placed in the middle of the card then I think Vince sticks to his guns and continues with the current Roman Reigns push as the new WWE Heavyweight Champion. But if, if the match is going on last I expect a major shake up with Reigns turning heel.
My prediction is the match goes on last and Triple H retains the title. After the match Reigns beats down Triple H and turns heel. After a sustained beat down of Triple H, out comes The Rock to make the save. Rock clears the ring of Reigns and helps Triple H up and endorses him as champion; thereby, turning HHH face.
Winner: Triple H
The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell.
This match feels like the real main event of WrestleMania 32. Although I don't agree with the whole premise of this match, I expect a great match between Shane and Taker. Shane will execute a crazy stunt bump or two and Taker always delivers at WM.
After a crazy stunt filled match, the Undertaker will have Shane thoroughly beaten and going for the pin when John Cena interferes costing Taker the match and setting up a feud between the two. Shane goes on to running RAW and we get a much needed shake up on Monday nights.
Winner: Shane McMahon
Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight.
Dean Ambrose takes a beating very well. He will most likely take the worst beating of his life at the hands of the Beast, Brock Lesnar. Expect Lesnar to dominate the first half of the match until Ambrose makes his comeback during the second half. Ambrose takes such a good beating he will no doubt get babyface cheers as he makes his comeback.
But in the end, it's all Lesnar. Brock pins Ambrose clean and afterwards we get the debut of Samoa Joe. Joe confronts Lesnar mid ring, and we get a Holy Sh&t chant until Brock leaves the ring.
Winner: Brock Lesnar
Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat for the WWE Divas Championship.
All three women in this match are great wrestlers. Charlotte is growing more comfortable week after week in her heel role. I know I'm supposed to boo Charlotte, the heel. How am I supposed to feel about Sasha and Becky? Unfortunately WWE hasn't done anything to define who Sasha and Becky are. I’m fairly certain I'm supposed to cheer Becky Lynch, her ring entrance and interaction with the fans tells me so. Sasha Banks I'm not so sure about. I'd like to see Charlotte win by pinning Becky Lynch. Then at RAW on Monday night Sasha can challenge Charlotte for the rebranded WWE Women's Championship claiming she was never truly beaten. WWE can then take the time to develop Sasha Bank’s character leading up to Extreme Rules. On a side note, I don't want to see Bayley called up to the main roster until the Charlotte/Banks story is told.
Chris Jericho vs. A.J. Styles
Now that this match is on WrestleMania I wish we didn't see the previous matches between these two. It's not that I'm not looking forward to the match; because I am, I just think the excitement would be off the charts had this been their first encounter.
I do expect this match to be their best. I also think this is the easiest match to predict. This is all about A.J. Styles as it should be. Styles will get the win as Jericho makes him look great in doing so. Hopefully WWE has big plans for Styles going forward beginning Monday night on RAW as we close the book on the Jericho vs. Styles feud.
Winner: A.J. Styles
Kalisto vs. Ryback for the WWE U.S. Championship
Putting the U.S. Title match on the Pre Show is disappointing. All championship title matches deserve to be on the main show, regardless of build. Now that being said the build to the match has not been good. Basically it's been Ryback saying he's going to win because the big guy always beats the little guy. I don't see that happening. Kalisto wins clean, now if only WWE would put some effort into giving us a reason to care about Kalisto.
The New Day vs. League of Nations in a 3 on 4 Handicap Match
I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to the New Day’s entrance. In fact, I'm looking forward to that more than the actual match. There is no reason to take the titles off of New Day, the fans love them whether they’re heels or babyfaces. Add to it the fact that the League of Nations are a heel faction that were dead on arrival and this is an easy match to predict. The New Day get the win and after the match we see the break up of the League of Nations.
Winner: New Day
The Dudley Boyz vs. The Usos
How old is this feud? I wish WWE made time in a three hour weekly show to give us a reason to care about the Uso’s. I still don't know anything more about them than I did a year ago. We’ll probably see this match again on RAW or Smackdown anyway. Either way, the Uso’s put the Dudley’s through a table and get the win.
Winner: The Uso’s
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Sin Cara vs. Zack Ryder vs. The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Stardust in a Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
I’d rather see Kevin Owens in a singles match against Sami Zayn. But since he's not, I still expect this match to be entertaining. I can only see Owens or Zayn winning this match. Sami Zayn is the ultimate underdog so I see him chasing Owens for the title coming out of WrestleMania. I just hope WWE uses the match to develop other feuds between the rest of the challengers.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
This match had so much potential when it first debuted at WrestleMania two years ago. Unfortunately, WWE dropped the ball on pushing the previous winners, so I don't expect much from this year’s winner. Hopefully we see some surprise entrants which will add some excitement to the match.
Winner: Braun Strowman
B.A.D. & Blond (Summer Rae, Lana, Emma, Naomi and Tamina) vs. Total Divas (Paige, Natayla, Brie Bella, Eva Marie and Alicia Fox).
This match was thrown together at the last minute with no build whatsoever. Add in Eva Marie and that makes it at least three women who can't wrestle. Unaware of the behind the scene issues/politics, I can't help but wonder why Paige is slotted where she is on the roster. Hopefully both Paige and Emma move on to bigger and better things after this.
Winner: Total Divas
Enjoy the show!
