It is painful listening to Booker T on this kickoff show.
They're really milking this Uso heel turn.
The match between Cesaro and Sheamus was good. I'm looking forward to their bes-of-seven series.
The video package on Lesnar and Orton is well done, but the problem is Brock has so many legitimate accomplishments under his belt it’s hard for anyone to match up with him.
The SummerSlam set looks fantastic.
Smart move starting out with the high energy of Enzo & Cass.
Stupid idiot chants.
Let's go Enzo chants
Jericho was late with the Code Breaker for the finish, looked like it could've been painful. Jericho & Owens over Enzo & Cass as predicted. Finish made sense, hopefully we see the feud continue. These two teams work well together.
0-1 on predictions.
At first I thought Charlotte dropped Sasha accident, but after the replay it looked planned. Strange move that looked painful for Sasha.
Charlotte is literally throwing Sasha around the ring like a rag doll.
This is awesome chants.
These women are beating the hell out of each other. Intense.
I really enjoyed that match. A little sloppy in parts, but hard hitting and great psychology.
1-1 on predictions.
The build to the Miz/Crews match has been pitiful, hopefully their match delivers.
That was just about what you'd expect. Both guys worked hard with the time they were given. The finish made sense. The Miz is still working as an act and it's too early for Crews. I do see Crews holding one of the secondary titles soon though.
2-1 on predictions.
I hope this is finally the blow off match for Cena/Styles.
LOUD John Cena sucks chants during his entrance and it doesn't faze him a bit.
The crowd is FIRED up for Styles vs. Cena. Great atmosphere.
The crowd is all over Cena, I feel bad for Roman Reigns later in the show.
It's impossible for AJ Styles to have a bad match. John Cena us holding his own, excellent match so far.
Mauro is going to lose his voice at this rate.
AJ Styles pins Cena clean in the middle of the ring! That was an amazing match with both men giving everything they have in them. If you haven't seen this match, I encourage you to go out of your way to see it. Styles leaves the ring to give Cena the stage as the crowd gives him a standing ovation. Incredible. Here's to hoping they shoot Styles to the moon Abdul give him the WWE World Championship.
3-1 on predictions.
Jon Stewart is part of New Days entrance, and remains at ringside. Please don't tell me he's going to get involved in the match.
And there it is. Jon Stewart gets in the ring and is about to get crotched into the ring post until Big E comes out to make the save. New Day retains due to DQ. A RAW worthy match with a terrible finish.
4-1 on predictions.
I have no interest in Dolph Ziggler.
Camera just caught Dean and Dolph talking to each other.
How can Kevin Dunn and Vince sit at gorilla and tell themselves David Otunga adds something to the broadcast?
This match is really dragging. It's hurt by the fact neither Ziggler or Ambrose are heels, although for some reason Dean is working slightly heel.
Polite applause for Dean pinning Dolph clean, average RAW match. I'm not a fan of Ambrose’s title run, he just doesn't carry himself like a champion should.
5-1 on predictions.
With Eva Marie serving a 30 day suspension, Nikki Bella returns to take her place. There's another correct prediction.
Nikki gets the tag to what Mauro says a thunderous reaction...it was anything but.
Becky Lynch deserves to be in a better spot for SummerSlam. Nikki Bella gets the win for her team in another RAW level match.
6-1 on predictions.
I'm shocked they're putting the Universal Championship match on before the U.S. title match. It should go on last, but I can understand putting Lesnar vs. Orton on last. I'm starting to think there's a good chance Goldberg interferes preventing Brock from winning now that I know it's going on last.
The Demon King entrance is amazing.
Sweet Jesus the new Universal Championship belt looks awful.
Finn Balor becomes the first WWE Universal Champion in a really good match. Not at Styles/Cena level but really good. The crowd took away from the match by booing every time the Universal title was shown and their ridiculous chants.
WWE made the right call by putting the belt on Balor. WWE is promoting a New Era and what better way to execute on that mission statement than by putting the belt on a fresh, new star.
7-1 on predictions.
Rusev attacks Reigns before the bell and the two brawl around the ring. Reigns gets the upper hand and continues the assault causing the ringside doctor to not allow Rusev to compete. I guess that's one way to keep the show from going too far past the hour.
Still 7-1 on predictions due to the U.S. Championship match never starting.
The crowd seems to be losing steam.
Lesnar is destroying Orton to start the match. He's administered seven German Suplexes and put him through an announce table.
There's the RKO, and Orton is back in the match. I don't see this match having a clean finish.
And there you have it, Brock destroys Randy Orton and wins by TKO.
Brock F-5s Shane, I love it. This is the way Brock Lesnar should be booked.
8-1 on predictions.
Although I'm a huge Brock Lesnar fan, after seeing how the main event was booked, Balor vs. Rollins should've gone on last. I think the way this show ended left fans feeling down. Balor standing tall with confetti raining down seems like a more fitting end to a show as big as SummerSlam. Personally I enjoyed the show, including the main event.
Cena vs. Styles was far and away the match of the night. It's possibly one of the top 10 matches of the year.
Overall grade for SummerSlam: B
