WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross’ latest blog was posted on Friday at www.jrsbarbq.com. Here are the highlights:
Dylan Postl, fka Hornswoggle is JR's latest guest on the Ross Report. This week JR will be joined by former WWE creative team member and TV producer, Andrew Goldstein. You can download the podcast for free at www.podcastone.com and iTunes.
Ross doesn't feel that Extreme Rules has significant buzz going into the show. (Fighting Champion Response: I agree with Ross here. Payback had much more buzz leading into the show. That can attributed to the match-ups feeling fresh and new. Most of the matches on Extreme Rules are rematches with added stipulations. I'm hopeful the show will surprise.
He congratulates John Cena for nabbing the hosting gig for the ESPY Awards.
He and Josh Barnett voiced over seven NJPW broadcasts o Tuesday and Wednesday. Ten shows will air in six weeks on AXSTV beginning May 27 focusing on the 2015 NJPW G1 Climax Tournament.
JR does not feel that either HHH nor the Undertaker have wrestled their last WrestleMania. He says WWE isn't going to let two of their all-time greatest stars fade away with a whimper. (FC Response: I agree, this is a no-brainer. It would be ridiculous for WWE to not market the retirement of both men. These retirement matches/tours will do huge business.
When discussing the return of Seth Rollins, Ross agrees that his return will received warmly but don't assume he's going to be a good guy. He says it's very doable for the talented wrestler to betray the fans and "break their hearts." (FC Response: Personally, I'd like to see Rollins stay a heel, feud with Roman Reigns and take the WWE Championship back.)
Ross says the wrestling business has a plethora of "cool heels," but certainly not an over abundance of villains who carry, "heat." (FC Response: I love the heel work both Charlotte and Chris Jericho are doing. They are both true heels that do not want to be cheered. While I greatly enjoy Kevin Owen's work, he still comes across as a "cool heel."
As always Ross goes into more detail in his blog,

Holy hell, this Willow vs. Jeff Hardy story is awful. Was the reveal of Matt Hardy as Willow meant to be a surprise? Regardless, it's not good. Please bring back The Iconic.
I like that they added Allie as Maria's assistant. A detail like this can really enhance Maria's character.
Wow, Sienna is impressive. Really like her finishing move. Velvet Sky losing came as no surprise considering she is leaving TNA.
The video package of Bennett and Maria proves Mike Bennett just wins at life.
I was enjoying Mike Bennett’s promo until it took a strange twist with him calling Earl Hebner to the ring. This just makes no sense. Why would another referee agree to ring the bell and put one of their own in harm's way? And why wouldn't Brian Hebner come to his dad's rescue? That was ridiculous. If that was a way just to get ECIII to the ring, they could've gone a different route.
I do like Bennett making Carter face all the ghosts of his past before getting his rematch.
Good match between ECIII and Tyrus. Both guys worked hard and looked good. Carter is really coming into his own as a babyface. I'm looking forward to Carter's match against Bennett at Slammiversary.
Good match between Everett & Lee vs. Edwards & DJ Z. Fast paced with a lot of action. That said, The Helms Dynasty isn't clicking with me yet. I'd like to learn more about Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett because right now they're just Helm’s sidekicks to me right now.
The video packages of Lashley and Galloway are really well done. TNA is doing a great job of promoting the main event throughout the show and making it feel special.
The Fact of Life talk show with Eli Drake is terrible. I just don't get what everyone sees in Drake. Throw in the fact Bram isn't clicking as a babyface and this segment is DOA.
Good match between Lashley and Galloway. It had a big match feel which helps. I wish there was a finish to the match called, but that was a really strong ending to the show. I assume we’ll see a rematch between Lashley and Galloway at Slammiversary. TNA has done a great job setting up the PPV.
This was yet another good episode of IMPACT.

The last RAW before Extreme Rules.
Yep, those are boos for Roman Reigns. Sweet Jesus, Reigns comes off as a jag.
And, yet again Reigns gets the upper hand. Not the way I was hoping the show would start.
Kevin Owens is so damn entertaining. The build to the Fatal 4-Way has been tremendous. I like the tag teams Stephanie McMahon set up for this match. Should be fun.
Zayn gets the pin on Miz which means he isn't winning on Sunday at Extreme Rules. That was a fun match nonetheless.
The Shining Stars < Los Matadores. Brutal.
“I'll take $15,000 out of your ass.” Chris Jericho to Dean Ambrose. Jericho was tremendous here as always. I prefer the Shield version of Dean Ambrose, but this version is working for me too. An Asylum Match...interesting. The potted plant on the cage is a nice touch.
I don't like WWE jumping right into a match between Becky Lynch and Dana Brooke. It's not that their match was bad, but why not drag the feud out longer? Make us want to see Lynch get her hands on Brooke and maybe give us a second women's match on a PPV. Becky did a great job carrying Dana Brooke through that match.
I'm willing to give the Darren Young and Bob Backlund pairing a chance, but yikes that was...awkward.
Did Stephanie just tell The Dudleys she's just not going to give them two little North Carolina guys because that's not how things are done around there anymore? Huh, I could've sworn that's what they did for Epico and Primo…
Call me crazy, but I'm a fan of Golden Truth. Loved the video package!
While I don't like the Breezdango name, I do like Fandango and Tyler Breeze as a tag team.
I have no words for New Day and their time machine. That was awful.
Bloodline > The Family
Balor Club > The Club
This is the most relevant the Usos have been since…..well, ever!
Seriously?!? Anderson and Gallows lose clean to the Usos? We get it Vince, WWE is better than NJPW.
The Styles Clash looks vicious.
Oh lord, who wrote Cass’ promo tonight, he's dying out there with that material. Way to represent the “New Era” by making references that only people over 40 would get. I'm a big fan of Cass, but unfortunately this was a huge step back for him.
Did Kalisto just fall on the stage while doing his intro? Yes, yes he did.
First Miz gets pinned, now Kalisto. Strange decisions for both. .
I can watch Rusev destroy Kalisto every week.
Natalya getting the What chant? Umm, OK.
Charlotte has improved greatly on the mic. Crazy Ric Flair gets me every time. I could've gone without Stephanie slapping Ric, but I liked the way RAW ended. Kudos to WWE for putting the contract signing on last.
However, this was an underwhelming go home edition of RAW. There were a lot of things that just didn't register with this viewer. The Shining Stars, the New Day time machine nonsense and The Club losing clean was all ridiculous. This show did not make me more excited to see Extreme Rules. Hopefully WWE has something big planned for the show on Sunday.

WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross’ latest blog was posted on Sunday at www.jrsbarbq.com. Here are the highlights:
This is last RAW before Extreme Rules so Ross is expecting a “hot” show. He says this is a hard show to produce due to the PG world of WWE. Historically ‘blood’ has been featured in many of the matches, but now it's a rarity. He thinks if used sporadically the use of blood could be a positive. (Fighting Champion Response: I'm looking forward to tonight's RAW. I've been pleased with the shows lately.)
Ross thinks all talents should be motivated to sell at Extreme Rules. He says it seems in a variety of other promotions many talents feel that selling looks weak, but when done efficiently it can do just the opposite.
He wishes Ron Simmons a Happy 52nd Birthday. Simmons was the first African American World Champion beating Vader for the WCW World Title. (FC Response: A Happy 52nd Birthday to Ron Simmons. My favorite work from Simmons is when he tagged with JBL as the APA...Damn!)
Ross questions if anyone thought the legal issues involving Jimmy Snuka are or were ever going to move to trial after all these years of bungling by the local, legal eagles.
JR doesn't think Adam Rose’s professional life is over after a second Wellness Policy violation and his arrest for domestic violence. Jim does admit that his WWE career is likely over, but our society loves to forgive those who show a legitimate desire to right their wrongs and Rose has the ability to do that. (FC Response: This is just a sad story. Since I don't know all the details stemming from both the Wellness Policy suspension and the domestic violence arrest it doesn't make sense to comment. I hope Rose and his family can work through this troubling time and come out on the other side stronger and in a much better place in their lives.)
Ross was in Perry, OK to see Dan Hodge get his statue revealed. Hodge is the only person to win both the USA National amateur wrestling title, which he won three times, and the USA National Golden Gloves Boxing Championship. Dan hodge turned 84 on Friday.
Hornswoggle is JR’s guest on the Ross Report this week. New podcasts drop every Tuesday night at 9pm ET on www.podcastone.com
Jim thinks the rivalry between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe is one of the best things on wrestling TV these days. (FC Response: I agree.)
He says it appears they've secured a venue in Orlando for his RINGSIDE with Jim Ross and Friends shows during WrestleMania 33 weekend.
You can order JR’s products at www.wweshop.com and www.americansoda.co.uk
Ross encourages fans to check out his favorite charity, www.headlockonhunger.org and see why he's so passionate about the organization.
He thanks everyone who downloaded the FITE TV app for free.
JR sends well wishes to Johnny Walker aka Mr. Wrestling 2 as he awaits aneurysm surgery.
Follow Jim on Twitter @JRsBBQ.
As always Ross goes into more detail in his blog, including a deeper dive into the limitations of Extreme Rules in a PG era and the Adam Rose situation.
This is the debut of, This Week's Top 10 WWE Superstars. My intent is to post a blog every Sunday listing the top 10 WWE Superstars of the week. The rankings are determined by the impact the superstar made on the current week's shows, where they stand on the card and their intangibles.
1. Roman Reigns
Reigns is the WWE Heavyweight Champion, whether I like it or not; therefore, he deserves the #1 ranking.
2. A.J. Styles
Styles is the #1 contender for the title and is facing Roman Reigns in the main event at Extreme Rules. He continues to be one of the main participants in the main story line on WWE television.
3. Chris Jericho
Jericho is the best heel in WWE right now. He's doing the heavy lifting in his feud with Dean Ambrose as they prepare to go at it again at Extreme Rules.
4. Kevin Owens
If not for the work Chris Jericho is doing, Owens would be the top heel in WWE. The Prizefighter also pinned Zach Ryder on RAW and Cesaro on Smackdown.
Although Charlotte lost to Paige this week, she remains the WWE Women's Champion. Charlotte will take on Natalya in a rematch for the title at Extreme Rules.
6. New Day
It was not a good week for New Day. They lost to the Dudley's on RAW and Kofi Kingston lost to Aiden English on Smackdown, but they are the WWE Tag Team Champions. They will take on The Vaudevillians at Extreme Rules.
7. The Miz
Miz is the WWE Intercontinental Champion and will battle Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Cesaro in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Extreme Rules.
Although Kalisto didn't have any matches this week, he is the WWE United States Champion. He will take on Rusev at Extreme Rules.
9. Sami Zayn
Zayn earned a spot in the Fatal 4-Way Match at Extreme Rules by beating The Miz in a non-title match this week.
10. Dean Ambrose
Ambrose really got under Chris Jericho's skin by destroying his Lite Bright jacket on RAW. He is in a high profile match at Extreme Rules against Jericho.
Curitiba, Brazil hosts what is a stacked card for UFC 198. The main event features a showdown for the heavyweight title between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic. This should be a very competitive fight as the betting odds reflect. Werdum won the belt by beating Cain Velasquez last June, and that's the last time the title has been on the line. Miocic comes into the fight off back to back knockout victories over Mark Hunt and Andrei Orlovski. The co-main event pits two Brazilians against each other as Vitor Belfort takes on Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in what looks to be a #1 contender fight for the middleweight title.
The main card also features the debut of Cris Justino as she takes on Leslie Smith, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Corey Anderson, and Warlley Alves vs. Bryan Barberena. Unfortunately we won't get to see the fight I was most looking forward to, Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall due to Silva having to pull out for a gall bladder operation. Hopefully we see this fight down the road.
Fabricio Werdum vs. Stipe Miocic should make for an entertaining fight, as it pits the striker against the grappler. Werdum holds a huge grappling advantage over Miocic, as he would against anybody in the division. Therefore, Stipe has to keep the fight standing where he can utilize his boxing skills. That being said, even if Miocic is able to keep the fight standing, Werdum has a great chin so Stipe's best chance of winning is to pile up the rounds and get the decision. I don't see that happening. I just don't think Miocic can stay standing for all five rounds. Fabricio Werdum successfully defends his belt for the first time and then gears up for Alistair Overeem.
As competitive as the main event should be, I just don't think the same holds true for the co-main event. Jacare has been on a tear and is one of the best middleweights on the planet. I don't see Belfort holding an advantage over Souza in any area and unless he surprises him and lands the perfect punch within the first round it's going to be rough night for him.
Fabricio Werdum (20-5-1) vs. Stipe Miocic (14-2) Current Line: Werdum -175, Miocic +145 Pick: Werdum by submission
Ronaldo Souza (22-4, 1 NC) vs. Vitor Belfort (25-11) Current Line: Souza -290, Belfort +240 Pick: Souza by submission
Cris Justino (15-1, 1 NC) vs. Leslie Smith (8-6-1) Current Line: Justino -1600, Smith +900 Pick: Cyborg by TKO
Mauricio Rua (23-10) vs. Corey Anderson (9-1) Current Line: Anderson -155, Rua +125 Pick: Anderson by decision.
Warlley Alves (11-0) vs. Bryan Barberena (11-3) Current Line: Alves -500, Barberena +375 Pick: Alves by TKO
Enjoy the fights!
Bellator 154 limps it's way to the SAP Center in San Jose, CA. The card is highlighted with an excellent fight between light heavyweights Phil Davis and Muhammed Lawal, Unfortunately we're not going to see the planned bout between Michael Chandler and former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson due to an injury to Thomson. Even worse was the untimely death of Jordan Parsons from a hit and run accident. He was scheduled to fight Adam Piccolotti who now takes on Ray Wood. The rest of the card pits Andre Fialho vs. Rick Reger in a welterweight battle and Evangelista Santos vs. Saad Awad.
Davis vs. King Mo is a really difficult fight to predict. Both are coming off tournament wins and add to it the winner is in line for the light heavyweight title. I think Davis holds a slight edge in wrestling, but not enough of one to consider it a major advantage. This fight will be won standing where Lawal has the advantage.I think King Mo does just enough to pull out the decision in a very close fight.
Phil Davis (15-3) vs. Muhammed Lawal (19-4) Current Line: Davis -220, Lawal +170 Pick: Lawal by decision
Ray Wood (8-1) vs. Adam Piccolotti (7-0) Current Line: Piccolotti -420, Wood +330 Pick: Piccolotti by TKO
Rick Reger (7-1) vs. Andre Fialho (7-0) Current Line: Fialho -400, Reger +300 Pick: Fialho by TKO
Evangelista Santos (21-16) vs. Saad Awad (18-7) Current Line: Awad -240, Santos +200 Pick: Awad by decision
Enjoy the fights!

Random Thoughts and Opinions
Due to some scheduling conflicts over the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to post my weekly IMPACT Wrestling column. Well, I'm finally caught up on the show, so let's get to it.
Let me begin by saying IMPACT continues t be a very good show since coming to Pop. The fact that the ratings are not showing improvement is troubling though. Hopefully it's a just a matter of time before more fans find the network on their cable/satellite providers. I have heard that some providers don't carry Pop in HD, which could turn some people off. In any event, IMPACT deserves another chance from fans that have stopped watching.
I wish TNA would have given Bobby Roode a better send off. Roode taking the pin in a garbage match doesn't seem worthy enough when you factor in everything he's done in TNA, in addition to his tenure with the company.
I like Decay as TNA Tag Team Champions. Now if only the company would invest in the division and bring in new teams for Decay to feud with. Rosemary is all in on her character. She has a ton of potential and is really good on the mic. In fact, I'd like to see her handle the main talking for the group. Good move by Abyss losing the mask.
Mike Bennett is growing on me. He's leaps and bounds better now than he was when he first came to TNA, but he might have the worst haircut in all of professional wrestling.
Lashley as the #1 contender for the TNA title makes sense. He's been giving the best promos of his career. I'm looking forward to his match with Galloway.
Matt Hardy seems to be all over the show right now. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but audiences are just going to assume it's him behind the Willows and also the person who paid Decay. With the recently departed talents from WWE it would be great if one or more of them showed up on IMPACT as the person(s) pulling the strings.
Rockstar Spud is fantastic. I wish he was featured more.
Sienna is impressive. TNA has to keep building the Knockouts Division and emphasize that the title is what's most important to the women.
I'm enjoying Al Snow's current run. Although, Mahabali Shera is still a long way away from being average in the ring. Snow's match with Grado, when it happens, should be good.
I'm curious to see how James Storm is going to be used going forward. I liked his pairing with Jeff Hardy for his mandatory rematch against Decay. The tag division needs more teams so I'd hate to see him go off as a singles act.

ECIII vs. Mike Bennett build
Lashley vs. Drew Galloway build
Al Snow vs. Grado build

WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross’ latest blog was posted on Monday at www.jrsbarbq.com. Here are the highlights:
Jonathan Coachman is JR’s latest guest on the Ross Report podcast. You can subscribe to the podcast for free at iTunes.
Ross enjoyed the ROH Global Wars PPV Sunday night. He said it was one of the most unique PPV’s he's watched on TV as it relates to fan reaction throughout the broadcast. He suggests ROH add one more camera and mic the crowd better if budget allows.
AXSTV will air ten New Japan Pro Wrestling broadcasts in six weeks covering the 2015 G1 Tournament starting on Friday May, 27 at 9/8CT.
Ross addresses the talents that were released from WWE and says it's not unusual and should, arguably, happen more often. He says one has to keep their head up looking for the next opportunity and not go the “poor me” route.
Jim sends well wishes to his dear friend Bobby Heenan who was hospitalized after taking a bad fall last week. Heenan is back home in the Tampa area recovering. Ross considers The Brain the best all around talent that he's ever worked with in his forty plus year career.
JR enjoyed the debut broadcast of Camp WWE. He loves the animated concept and the TV-MA concept.
Tickets for the two day celebration of pro wrestling on July 16 & 17 are on sale. Get more info at www.imperialwrestlingrevolution.com.
Ross says the Extreme Rules PPV is one of the more challenging events WWE reproduces annually because it's hard to maintain a PG product in an extreme rules format.
Purchase JR’s products at www.wweshop.com and americansoda.co.uk.
He's hopeful to finalize the venue for his RINGSIDE Shows in Orlando next year during WrestleMania 33.
JR plugs the FITE TV app, saying it worked amazingly well for him Sunday night for the ROH PPV.
As always Ross goes into more detail in his blog. For those interested, he goes into a deeper dive on the ROH PPV from Sunday night, including the Chicago crowd and the individual matches.

Random Thoughts and Opinions
Nice to see the show start off with someone other than the McMahons.
Big Cass sharing the ring with Jericho during the opening segment is….well, awesome. That big boot looked STIFF!
The End of Days has become one of my favorite finishers in WWE. I still think Ziggler is getting too much offense against Corbin though. I'm ready for this feud to be over.
The Club? Come on, seriously? The Club?!?
I actually would've liked to see the R Truth vs. Fandango match go longer. I still enjoy Goldust’s work, always have.
The backstage promos have all been spot on tonight so far. Really well done.
The first hour flew by.
Being a huge Paige fan, it was nice to finally see her in a meaningful match. Ric Flair was great being “Crazy Ric” during the match. Hopefully this puts Paige back into a higher spot within the Women's Division.
Good match between Zayn and Miz, although the finish was never in doubt. They didn't give too much away here. I'm really looking forward to the Fatal 4 Way at Extreme Rules.
Dana Brooke makes her WWE RAW debut.
Bob Backlund, life coach. This should be interesting...
Shane McMahon has interesting taste in office decor.
I have to admit, putting the Usos with Reigns and having them feud with The Club has me more interested in them than ever before.
It's amazing how much better Rusev comes across to this viewer by not having to be saddled with the League of Nations baggage. I don't understand having Rusev lose here, and fairly quickly. I was expecting WWE to start giving Rusev momentum heading into Extreme Rules. Silly me. Rusev better destroy Sin Cara on Smackdown!
A.J. Styles and Roman Reigns work well together. Styles bumps around like crazy for him. But seriously, the Super Reigns part of every match is getting to be a little too much. WWE just refuses to let Styles get over on Reigns. I would love to see Styles destroy Reigns Triple H style before Extreme Rules. Also, why make this an Elimination Match? It's absurd that the competitors in this match got pinned so quickly. In reality this match should have gone at least thirty minutes.
It's official, WWE completely botched the debut of Gallows and Anderson.
Like the Sami Zayn vs. Miz match, there was no doubt who was winning the Owens vs. Ryder match, which took it down a notch for me.
New Day is just so darn entertaining. That was a really good match. Do Enzo and Cass feud with the Dudleys or the Vaudevillains upon Enzo's return? I like WWE keeping the Dudley's strong.
I'm enjoying Jericho’s recent work and his feud with Dean Ambrose, but that ending fell a little flat for me. I was looking forward to Big Cass taking on Jericho, they could've waited one more week for Ambrose to get his revenge.
As far as the McMahon family drama at the end of the show...eh.
This was a good, slightly above average show. It was better than last week's uneven show.
